Body of Christ

praying
Read until the end!!!
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in
Trying to fade into the faces
The girls' teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat
And quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ
If we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
Jesus is the way

We are one body of Christ! We should not be judgemental! If you notice someone at church kind of alone and quiet, reach out to them! Don't exclude them! We are ONE body of Christ! Not two not three! ONE!! Let's start reaching out to others instead of excluding them because they don't worship like you do! Let's stop gossiping about the girl or guy in your class that you think isn't a Christian. Talk to them, invite them to church! Let's be ONE body of Christ!!!!

| Dec 8, 2008 11:49 pm Amen sista Seriously, in these days it's getting overly ridiculous at how quick we judge one another. I know I’m one of those people who worships in my own way, so I can sympathize with anyone there. The point is to praise him; not to follow the crowd and do it as everyone else does. It doesn’t mean I love God any less. He created us differently, so it should be no surprise we do things differently. We dehumanize people so much though, I guess it shouldn’t be surprising. That’s why I feel so bad for Bret. Everyone in the school seems to pick on him as if it doesn’t hurt. He’s shunned because he doesn’t do things exactly like the rest of the world; which is cool. It makes him, him. Just as the things you do make you, you. And so on. I guess the cruelty in our nature seems to over power our common sense? Well, I guess I should shut up now, but here’s my last words anyhow: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling (1 Peter 4:8-9).” |
