Toenails!!!!

Isaiah 62:4
"The Lord delighteth in thee..."
Everybody take a moment and look at your toenail. On the surface it looks relatively simple and unimportant. However, the tonail has long been a major factor in determining the physical condition of the body. Discoloration, thickness, and white spots on the tonail can be a sign of infection in other parts of the body. So the toenail actually serves a purpose and is an important part of our anatomy. They also are very complex in structure, as you can see below, they are made up of eight different sections.
Fingernails and toenails, which are made of protein and are a form of modified hair, are composed of:
the nail matrix- or the root of the nail - this is the growing part of the nail still under the skin at the nail's proximal end.
eponychium- or cuticle which is the fold of skin at the proximal end of the nail.
paronychium -which is the fold of skin on the sides of the nail.
hyponychium- which is the attachment between the skin of the finger or toe and the distal end of the nail.
nail plate- which is what we think of when we say nail, the hard and translucent portion, composed of keratin.
nail bed- which is the adherent connective tissue that underlies the nail.
lunula- which is the crescent shaped whitish area of the nail bed.
nail fold- a fold of hard skin overlapping the base and sides of a fingernail or toenail.
Our life can often seem like a toenail. We feel as though everyone who sees us, views us as simple and unimportant. We feel ignored and lonely. However there is one who sees excatly how important we are. God created us, and since day one of our existence God has seen someone who is special and capable of anything. Someone who is smart, beautiful, and very much needed in the family of God. He realizes there is much more to you and me than what you can physically see. In fact He believes we are worth the life of His son. It tells us in John 3:16 that God sent His son so we might live forever. So the next time you feel ignored and unimportant, think about your toenails, and know that God is paying attention to you, and He believes you are very important.
His son died on a cross for you, if that aint love, I don't know what is.
Application: Spend a few minutes and write down all the things God has blessed you with. Thank him for always thinking highly of you.
