Our sad realities

wondering
Comparing your face, your hair, the size in which you dress?
It’s the deepest flaws that make the greatest beauty, after all.
Why, my friend, has loneliness carved caverns in your being?
Have you forgotten the Spirit who cradles you, even as you read these words?
Physical reality is a luxury that often ends more in suffering than joy.
Why, Christians, do we not think of His heart?
We are hurt and betrayed, turned against and disobeyed.
Then betray our beliefs for sin and decay,
Selfishly excusing our petty crimes as an earthly release.
Never mind the fellow man as we blindly defy
How easily we forget our Lord, too, can cry.
What a cruel joke are the days of present
Society mourns the falls of children following the Beast
Yet nary a whisper of believers slain for their words.
Onward we trudge, self loathing and begging
Making solvable problems and drowning in self pity.
No longer, my brothers.
Fight it, my sisters.
Each passing breath brings us closer to answers.
Born into family,
And then die alone
But we must survive with fire, until God brings us home.
