Friendships

When I was in the world I thought that I had so many "best friends" they were there when I called them (if I had something to offer), there when I was bored (if I could entertain them), and there when no one else was (because no one else worth my time was worth it to me at the time). They made me feel "good about myself." They listened to my jokes. I felt like no matter what I did they would support me. Kinda like social networking friends?

You talk to them when they speak first (If what they say has something to offer you).

Your there when they're bored (only because your also bored)

Your there when no one else is (because your to lazy to go to someone else who needs you)

You make them feel good when you "like" their comments.

REALLY?! Kinda sad how we, as a whole, view friendships and/or any relationships for that matter. It's such a selfish way to view the people around you. Even disney's-drama-filled-"teen"-shows give you a better idea of friendship than what you get on a computer. If Disney and all their lies can produce something better than social network friends than imagine how much more God can bless you with REAL friends!

!!!!A secular friend can pull you away from God. They can tempt you to be what you don't want to be and are not supposed to be. You can still care for your old friends who are not Godly but you shouldn't hang out with them.!!!!!

Proverbs 12:26 (nkjv) The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.

How much do you know about your best friend?

Do you know their birthday?

Their middle name?

Their favorite color?

Or let's try going deeper. Do you know where they are with God?

How often do they say the Lord's name when you talk to them?

A true friend is a Godly friend. But it takes letting Jesus be your BEST FRIEND. God can place people in your life who is going to be a blessing to you but the catch is you have to first be willing to be a blessing to them.

I don't know you. I don't know where you are with God, what your favorite color is, your middle name, your birthday, but I'm willing to get to know those things. I'm willing to get to know YOU. I can say I care about you. I can say that I care about all of those things about you because the Lord does. See when HE is your best friend every Christian you meet you will care about. You will be the Godly friend that you want to be. You'll thrive on being a blessing not how much you gain.

John 15:15 (nkjv) No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you
