To live or to die

My teacher asked us to memorize one of Hamlets soliloquies, in stead I asked if i could 'rewrite it' she said yes, so this is it! I hope you like it! (My teacher enjoyed it, I was SOOOO happy! (Laugh))


Is it better to live or better to die?
That is our question.

Is it better to patiently endure misfortunes that are earthly,
Or is it better to end them quickly?

Should we accept all of life’s troubles with open arms; the pain, the heart ache
and the sorrow?
Or should we put an end to it all before we see the first light of tomorrow?

To toy with destruction…
Leaving loved ones in devastation…

But should we accept death, what’s next?
In the life after this one will we be vexed?

What does it have in store…?
Will there be release from the earthly horror?

Or will there be more pain and sorrow?
Just like we see in our tomorrow?

The things we face every day
Who are we to say

That they are earthly at all, that these things that haunt us aren’t everywhere,
How do we know these things won’t follow us from here to there?

Will ending our life bring hope,
Or will we continually mope…?

Will death stop the pain …?
Or will it continue to rain …?

Will our bones go dry,
Long before we die?

Will we languish away,
Or will we simple decay?

For the question still remains, we can’t shake it with sigh.
Is it better to live or better to die?

Should we end this life,
Will it end our strife?

Will the life after this bring the refreshing rains
Or will it bring more miserable pains
The question remains…

Is it better to live or better to die?
