A Chicken in a Lions World.
Posted On: 04/17/2012
You know those times when you seem to be in utter terror. Something in your life that has made you afraid for some reason. You react in several ways but none of them change your fear or help it go away. So you remain afraid.
Well you don't have to be afraid. The Lord is always with you. In the times when you are afraid, it feels like they are magnified, in your face, and you can't see around them. But when you learn to trust the Lord those things aren't as great anymore. They suddenly don't seem so scary.
Hebrews 13:5 "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
I titled this "A Chicken in a Lions World" because as Christians we are in this world but not of it. This world is Satans domain but we are here as a ambassador of the almighty. Our home is not this world so when we allow fear to set in we are becoming as chickens to be devoured by the lion.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be Sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
But God makes us just as courageous and bold as a lion. True courage is something that God gives. It's not in us naturally.
Courage=the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face a difficulty, or danger, pain, etc.
Fear=a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc.
Godly Fear=Reverential awe or respect.
There is a way, however, to combat fear. You build up on faith. I can never say it enough! You seriously just need to start reading your word. Start praying. Dig into God! Cry out to him. Trust him. He can make you fearless but you have to rely on him to take your fears away.
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
