Gods Hug

A cold, dark night settles over the city.

She’s completely wasted though no red wine has touched her lips.
She feels like she’s going to throw up though nothing spoiled has made her ill.
She’s shaky but she isn’t cold.
She wraps her wounds but only the physical ones.
Her eyes are dark and empty no light has been there lately.
She stumbles around in the darkness until she finds a pen and paper.
Her hands shaky, her eyes dark, her voice quivering, and her stomach churning she writes a simple note.
Before she signs the note the wind picks up, her curtains are tossed aside.
An unfamiliar light flickers in the corner of her dark room.
She turns to see it, and another light glows from behind.
She turns again and is soon enveloped in a strange light.
A warm, gentle light, that seems to carry her.
Her walls come crumbling to the ground and she throws herself into His arms.
He rocks His child to sleep and whispers “I love you”.


He’s wasted himself again and once more he has done it without drugs.
He’s getting sick but it isn’t anything he consumed.
He’s shaking like a leaf but it isn’t the chill of the night that causes him to do so.
His eyes are wide and wild, dark and untamed; no love has been there lately.
He stumbles around in the darkness, and then throws open his window.
Sickness sweeps over him but though he’s shaking he raises his voice and shouts into the twilight. “If you’re really here show yourself!”
A lightening bolt hits the ground inches from his window.
A voice like rolling thunder breaks through the dark.
“I am here!”
Then the tone changes into the purr of a kitten.
“And I love you.”
A strange warm light encases the shaking boy.
He lets his walls come down and buries his face in His arms.
He rocks His child to sleep and whispers “I love you”


‘I loved you then, in your brokenness, I love you now as you rest in my arms, and I will love you when you wonder off. Just please come back…’

(Hey guys, so I was just thinking about random stuff and I started saying this to myself, and I was like ‘What? What am I saying?’, so I decided to write it! I hope you like it!)
Yes, the scenarios are the same length and no, I didn’t do that on purpose but yes, I’m happy it turned out that way. (laugh)
