No. I consider contraception to be responsible not sinful. |

have given this a lot of thought. I guess it depends which kind, like some actually cause abortions but some don't |

Good point. Some people use abortion as contraception. I had in mind preventing pregnancy in the first place. |

Thanks. I'm looking into trying the IUD if it works out, bit nervous :/ there's quite a lot of information online about it all. I like the idea of natural family planning, it just takes time to get the hang of I think |

This is one of those subjects that is not made clear in the Bible. Modern forms of birth control were not available to those who lived in Bible times. Consider this: God gave us a form of birth control in that a woman can only become pregnant when she ovulates. Surely sexual intercourse between married couples is not limited to those few days each month.
As far as sexual intercourse being solely for the purpose conceiving a child, then that must mean that once a woman can no longer bear children (such as after menopause or a hysterectomy) then sex is out. I do not believe that to be the case.
This is a subject that married couples must consider carefully, asking God for wisdom and direction. As far as non-intercourse sexual actions, I think that's part of the pleasurable activity and is not considered sinful as long as the couple is in mutual agreement. |
