About Acoustic Frenzy
|
So you may have noticed I haven't done much this past year. I was injured at work Oct of 2007, and was always just a couple of weeks away from getting better. Now in Dec of 2008 it looks like I will need another surgery and 5 more months of physical therapy. Once I am better and released to work, I fully intend on playing shows, writing more music, and recording more music. Thanks to all of you who have been so faithful and encouraging. Keep looking back for update;, I will try keeping you all updated.
God Bless,
Donn
Before we get too much further in our venture, I want to explain why we are listed as Christian music...
The music that we perform is not praise and worship or what is traditionally heard on Christian radio. However, everything we play is for the glory of God. I actually put off production for over a year to write more "God-friendly" songs but was strongly convicted that the songs that I had already been writing were songs that God had blessed me with and exactly what he wanted me to share. So, while our lyrics may not be what you expect to hear on Christian radio, you'll find no inappropriate lyrics or content. Before I record a song, I pass the lyrics through outside filters...for example, I will not be embarrassed to share my lyrics with my family or even my pastor. Hopefully these songs can be a blessing to you and a joy to share with your friends (or pastor or family).
Respectfully and in His love,
Donn
--------------------------
Donn has been singing all his life. He started singing long before he was walking and quite frankly we are still not sure about the walking most days. In high school he found little trouble playing anything brass but in college traded the trombone in for the bass and classical music for alternative. After a short stent on the bass playing with small indie and punk rock bands, Donn changed instruments once again and started learning the guitar to get back to his first love, singing.
In the music world Jesse is best known for his majestic red beard, tearing up the Springfield area, and for his raging grunge-style bass lines. He introduced himself to the Chicago music scene singing with “Jack and the Rippers”. His performance commanded attention and is still getting talked about today. Jesse has won great respect as an accomplished artist and poet by sharing some of his most personal work.
Lauren has done a little bit of everything. She is a jack of all trades when it comes to the arts; everything from mastering woodwinds to channeling all her energy into traditional Irish dance and music. The results of her hard work shines through as seen with her involvement as director of the Triallta Irish Dance Company. One only realizes the full potential of her art when watching her students gracefully take stage displaying hard work and dedication.
Soon after meeting these two uniquely talented artists, Donn knew he had found what he needed to fill out his long sought-out sound. Laurens ability to spontaneously ooze coolness, and Jesse's rolling bass lines that when teamed with Brenna can drive a song wherever it needs to go whether its to the market for milk or on stage for rawkdom are sure to fill out an Acoustic Frenzy.
